The "A O" Show

The "A O" Show

Saigon, as the current Ho Chi Minh City is known to all but government officials, is Vietnam’s largest and most exciting city. Besides the city’s must-see daytime attractions such as the Reunification Palace, the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War, Notre Dame Cathedral, a major center of Catholicism in modern Vietnam, Saigon Post Office, a classic French colonial structure, The War Remnants Museum, and Ben Thanh Market, packed to the rafters with everything from fruits and nuts to souvenirs and true bargains, there is even more to experience once night falls.   The “À Ố” Show, phonetically understood as the Ahhh! Ohhh! show playing at Saigon's historic Opera House is a wonderful way to spend an evening in Vietnam.

A modern dance “circus” performance, comparable to le Cirque de Soleil, À Ố Show is a new kind of art form surpassing all limits of previous art shows in Vietnam over the years. The audience is offered the opportunity to let their imagination run wild, set off by the visual creations and lighting of each performance.

The images shown serve to remind the audience of the importance of simple tools in Vietnamese culture such as bamboo and basket boats.  The À Ố Show has no script, no climax and no sequence. An “À Ố” show’s uniqueness comes from its ability to create new aspects of performances and reflect both modern and traditional Vietnam. It is almost as if the audience was privy to a Vietnamese dream of life, survival, love and everything in between. Join us and have your own experience.
